The Reservoir Dogcows are a long running World of Warcraft guild on the Whisperwind US server. We are currently recruiting casual members, and are interested in rebuilding our raiding crew.

How to apply:

If you haven’t already, read About the Dogcows and Dogcow 101: Guidelines for Being a Good Dogcow and decide if we are the right guild for you. You may also wish to browse our forums to get an idea of our raiding schedule and atmosphere.

Create a forum account.

Fill out our Guild Application (just copy the text) and posting your application in the Guild Applications Forum. Note that if you are not applying as a raider you do not need to fill out the Raider section.

Once your application is up, you will need two Dogcows members to post in your thread and agree to sponsor you. If you don’t know any Dogcows, that’s okay. Feel free to post in your application thread when you’re available for groups or what quests you’re working on. If you take the initiative to team up with people in the guild, it should be easy to find sponsors.

As soon as you get two sponsors, the guild leadership will review your application. If it is approved then one of the guild officers will tag you into the guild. For non-Raider applications the guild leadership approval step is mostly a formality. Raider applicants must receive the approval of both the Raiding Officer and the tac leader for the raid in which they seeking a reserved slot.

Initiation:

Once an applicant has been tagged into the guild, they will start a 30-day initiation period. During this time they can participate in on-line guild activities as well as most of the guild forums. Initiates are encouraged to work with their sponsors and take an active role in the guild during this time.

At the end of the 30 days, the guild officers will evaluate feedback from other members in order to decide whether or not to promote an initiate to full member status. The 30-day initiation period may be extended in some cases if an initiate does not receive sufficient feedback.

Raider Applicants:

Although we aim to raid 2-3 times per week (3-4 hours per raid) and have a relatively relaxed attitude towards raiding, we do expect more from our raiders than our casual members. Raider applicants must be geared appropriately and be able to competently perform the basic roles of their class and spec in raids. Raid slots are not guaranteed with standard guild membership; raider candidates will be evaluated for performance and group compatibility on one or more trial runs by the raid team before being offered raider rank.
